Film #1 - Reconnaissance Pilot - USAAF P-38 film starring William Holden as Lt. "Packy" Cummings. It is a story about a recon pilot in the Pacific flying a P-38 on 52 missions and actually flies down a Japanese Zero into the sea. These recon guys were nicknamed "Photo Joes" and had one of the most dangerous jobs in the war. Flying a camera, the Lockheed F-5, (a stripped down P-38 that could fly as fast as 450 MPH) was unarmed, and un-escorted. Often the pilot flew deep into enemy territory and alone. This film is based on a real recon pilot, Alex Gary, who became the most decorated US recon pilot of the war. Lots of planes in this movie. Runtime is about 29 minutes.
Film #2 - Photo Joes - A rare film of the F-5 Lightning which is a photo equipped version of the P-38 Lightning but armed with a camera instead of guns. Runtime is about 7 minutes.
Film #3 - Angel In Overalls - a USAAF P-38 Film that tells the story about how P-38s come to the rescue to protect the B-24 and B-17 bombers as they fly over Germany. Runtime is about 15 minutes.

Lockheed conceives the P-38; The fastest plane alive. 2nd, Aerial recon. 3rd, The tide turns New Guinea Pacific War. 4th, P-38s get Yamamoto. 5th. Air rescue on Japanese-held island. 6th, P-38 and P-47 get rockets. 7th. P-38s escort B-25s on a mission in the Pacific. 8th. Luftwaffe shoots down a P-38. 9th. A short P-38 Lightning film using a collection of photos and clips of the Lockheed P-38 factory in Burbank, Ca. 1940s. Runtime is about 4 minutes.
Film #5 - P-38 Attu Story - This a story about a hotshot P-38 Lightning pilot flying in the Aleutians at 300 MPH and misjudged how close he was to the ground. Because of all of the snow, he misjudged his altitude and crashed into a snow drift. He bounced up and he thought he could fly his P-38 home on one engine. But when he looked, he discovered that one engine was gone and the prop was missing on the other. He than settled the P-38 aircraft in on a belly landing and jumped out of the aircraft believing it would burn, (which it did not). He was picked up by a boat that afternoon and the P-38 was left there for the next 40+ years. Today, the P-38 has been totally restored by a group of dedicated men. Runtime is about 6 minutes.
Total runtime for the Lockheed P-38 Lightning WWII Fighter DVD is about 61 minutes. Format is NTSC DVD and region-free.
