Republic F-105 Thunderchief Development Disc 2 DVD
This DVD is a collection of films and newsreels on the famous Republic F105 Thunderchief, a fighter-bomber that could fly supersonic at Mach 2. The F105 bore the brunt of the jet fighter bomb runs over Vietnam in the early years of the conflict. This DVD concentrates on the development of the F 105 and its early days.
Film #1 - F-105 Development - This is a Republic Aircraft Co. film on the F105 Thunderchief development. The goal was to develop a fighter jet that could fly aerodynamically at Mach 2 supersonic speeds and keep it stable. The F-105 did just that. This is worth watching! Runtime is about 26 minutes.
Film #2 - F-105 and F.O.D. - The F-105 was known as the Jet with Nostrils because of the design of the fighter's air intakes. The air intake design created a vacuum and thus an answer was needed for FOD (Foreign Object Damage). This is that story. Great narrated F105 footage too. Runtime is about 15 minutes.

Film #4 - F-105 in Vietnam - 25 Hour Day - This is an Air Force film on the F-105 over Vietnam called 25 hour Day. The film shows the Thunderchiefs flying around the clock, 24 hours a day, rain or night, the Thuds flew and flew until it was a blur to both the pilots and ground crews. This film shows start-ups, repairs, takeoffs, refuelings, and bombing runs. Great piece of history. Runtime is about 26 minutes.
Film #5 - F-105 Fueling and Armament - This is rare Republic footage on fueling the F-105, plus loading armament such as the LAV-32 and the Blu-1. This collection is silent, so we added a soundtrack to it. Runtime is about 9 minutes.
