USN Curtiss SB2C Helldiver WWII Dive Bomber DVD
This DVD is about the amazing Curtiss SB2C Helldiver. This plane was the replacement for the Douglas SBD Dauntless Dive Bomber. Hated at first, it was known as the Beast to many, but after the bugs were worked out, the plane became an effective aircraft in the fleet.
Film #1 - Flying the Curtiss SC2B Helldiver - This is a great film created by the USN about how to fly the Curtiss SB2C Helldiver. This is a very nice print and the plane is put through its paces. Startups, bomb load types, flying, takeoffs and landings, stalls, and of course, diving!. Run time is about 32 minutes.
Film #2 - Aerial Torpedo Attack - This is a Navy film on the Grumman TBF Avenger and the SB2C Helldiver dropping different types of torpedos from different heights. Runtime is about 27 minutes.
Film #3 - US Navy Newsreels - This is a great collection of Navy carrier action:
Runtime is about 13 minutes.
Film #4 - Wings of Freedom - A War Dept film on the Curtiss Factory covering P-40s and SB2Cs. This is not something you see everyday. Runtime is about 10 minutes.
Film #5 - Dive Bombing - He forgot to check his altimeter!. This is a very rare Navy cartoon film from the series Grandpaw Pettibone GRIPES. There were only 19 cartoons ever made during WW2 and this one is about an SB2C pilot making a big mistake. RIP! Runtime is about 4 minutes.
Total runtime for the Navy Curtiss SB2C Helldiver DVD is about 86 minutes. Format is NTSC DVD and region-free.
